For more than 80 years, the Marshall Messenger, now the Independent, has been printed in Marshall. Starting on Monday, April 7, that will change.
With advancements in computer technology and equipment, all printing, production and assembly of the newspaper will be done at its sister location at the House of Print in Madelia, MN.
The decision to end printing in Marshall was shared to Independent employees last week by Publisher Russ Labat. The shuttering of the dated press means the Independent will also be reducing its work force.
