Lawmakers wound up their 40-day session of the General Assembly by tossing into the air the reams of papers on their desks at midnight, but just 90 minutes earlier they voted that future official communications be done electronically.
The legislature may not immediately end the use of all paper, but it will be able to save taxpayers money on reports and studies that agencies produce which they are required to be distributed to all 236 members of the General Assembly.
